ISK at Mikołajki Swim Meet in Warsaw
Last Friday and Saturday, December 7-8, our ISK Hussars Swim Team participated in the Invitational Mikołajki Swim Meet at the American School of Warsaw. Our school competed against six other schools – American School of Warsaw, Anglo-American School of Moscow, International School of Prague, Riverside International School of Prague, The British School of Warsaw, and Bednarska Private School of Warsaw. There were over 100 swimmers and 11 swim styles for girls/boys and Middle/High School to swim – 44 in total (each swimmer could participate in 4 events and one relay). Our swimmers did a great job winning medals in 16 events out of these 44!
Individually:
Maja G7 won 3 gold medals and 1 silver,
Zuza G9 won 3 silver medals and 1 bronze,
Zuza G6 won 1 silver medal and 3 bronze,
Maciek G10 won 1 silver medal and 2 bronze.
Moreover, four of our girls, Zuza G6, Maja G7, Kornelia G9, and Zuza G9 competed in a 4×50 m freestyle relay in the High School category, even though two of them are Middle Schoolers. There were 7 teams competing in a relay and our girls won the silver medal! We all were so happy for them! Each swimmer in our team showed courage and a real team spirit, supporting each other, overcoming difficulties and fears as well as laughing over pizza that we ate a lot 😉
